Jana Kramer, an actor and singer-songwriter who specializes in country music and songwriting gained prominence on TV when she became Alex in the last three seasons on One Tree Hill. The first three albums she released as a country artist appeared on the episodes of the show, which helped her debut album of the same name in the top 20 in the Billboard 200. Thirty One by 2015 was the follow-up and reached Number Ten. The last decade saw she appeared in Dancing with the Stars as well in TV movies and a number of television programs. The singer also released a few singles that did not appear on albums. The self-doubting Voices was released in 2021. Jana Rae Kramer is a Michigan native that was raised on country music. Although she pursued the acting and recording professions, her debut on screen came in the independent horror film Dead/Undead (2002) while still at high school. Through the years, she appeared on several shows, including All My Children and CSI: NY before landing the recurring role as Noelle Davenport in NBC's Friday Night Lights' 2nd season (2007-2008). Kramer went on to play Portia Ranson in 90210 (2008-2009) and Brooke Manning, in Entourage (2009), before she was offered the role of One Tree Hill by the CW as Alex Dupre. Kramer remained with the One Tree Hill team until half way through its last season (2012). The song was later featured in Jana Kramer, her debut album, which was released in 2012. The track landed in the Top Five of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. She continued to act in films like Heart of the Country 2013 or Country Crush 2016 which would be appealing to her fanbase. The album was released in October 2015. Kramer released Thirty One by Warner Music Nashville. The album was helped by Kramer's Top Five country song I Got the Boy and also as a duet with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. The album peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 country charts and top 10 on the Billboard 200. Starting in September 2016 the singer was a part of two weeks in the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars, that ended in fourth-place finish. That same year she had a hit adult contemporary hit song called Straight No Chaser's Feels Like Christmas.
